Chula Vista Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Opens Wednesdays and Saturdays Without Appointment

CHULA VISTA — November 2, 2026. Chula Vista’s Environmental Services division lists a household hazardous-waste facility at 1800 Maxwell Road operating Wednesday and Saturday, 9 a.m.–1 p.m., except holidays.

Who may use the facility

The city states that residents of Chula Vista, Imperial Beach, National City and unincorporated San Diego County may bring accepted household hazardous waste. Commercial waste may not qualify under the household program.

Which materials need special handling

Paint, thinners, automotive batteries, fluorescent bulbs, household chemicals, electronics and sharps have specific handling rules. These items should never be mixed in a trash cart or combined in unmarked containers.

Before bringing waste

The city says an appointment is not required for eligible households during the listed operating periods. People should still check quantity restrictions and packaging and avoid leaving waste at the facility when closed.
